Mike Rotunda Explains Why Bray Wyatt Isn’t Being Inducted Into the WWE Hall Of Fame This Year

Ever since Bray Wyatt passed away, fans have been clamoring for him to be honored with a WWE Hall Of Fame induction. Therefore, when the list of inductees for this year’s class was leaked on Reddit, many were delighted to see Wyatt’s name included. However, it was later somewhat surprisingly reported that WWE had gone back on this. And now, while being interviewed by Bill Apter, Wyatt’s father, Mike Rotunda, who himself is about to be acknowledged at the ceremony, has revealed that it was too stressful for the family, given how recent Wyatt’s passing was.

“I think WWE reassessed stuff and thought it was too soon to go there with our family and the reactions and the stress on us. We got a call from WWE, and [they] said Hunter wants to do a Zoom call. We were thinking they were gonna tell us what was gonna happen at WrestleMania, and Hunter said, ‘You guys are gonna get inducted. You and Barry were a part of the first [WrestleMania] show. It’s very flattering, obviously, and actually less stressful on us because of all the stuff that we had to go through with Windham passing, just the mental capacity of it.”

The Rotunda family is fully connected to the wrestling business, with Mike marrying the daughter of Blackjack Mulligan, who is also the sister of Barry and Kendall Windham. Additionally, both his sons became highly regarded pro wrestlers in WWE. Therefore, when 36-year-old Wyatt suddenly passed away, the whole industry not only grieved for the family but made themselves available to help.
