Mika Rotunda Sets The Record Straight On Her Father’s Health Battle

Earlier this week, an interview with Barry Windham went viral after the WWE Hall of Famer requested prayers for his former tag partner and brother-in-law, Mike Rotunda. According to Windham, the wrestler best known for his time in WWE as Irwin R. Schyster was unfortunately receiving hospice care, leading fans to believe he was living on borrowed time.

However, in what is still depressing, but more positive news, Rotunda’s daughter Mika has taken to Instagram to confirm her father isn’t receiving hospice care, but is recovering from a heart attack. Apparently this occurred on September 20, and after being hospitalized for a month, Rotunda is at a rehabilitation center, which has seemingly caused the confusion.

Rotunda broke into the business in 1981 and returned years later, joining WWE, winning two Tag Team Championships with Windham. And while he would depart the promotion, performing in Japan, the AWA, and for Jim Crockett Promotions. In 1991, Vince McMahon recast him as an evil taxman, taunting fans as “tax cheats” who must “pay their fair share.” This led to him working with future legends such as Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, and Razor Ramon, plus winning three more Tag Team Championships with Ted DiBiase.
