Mick Foley Reveals He Might Wrestle Again

Mick Foley hadn’t wrestled since 2012, when he competed in the Royal Rumble match, and his last full-time run ended in TNA back in 2010. Yet, it now appears there is a very real chance of him returning to the ring in the next 18 months, as the WWE Hall of Famer has revealed on his podcast that he wants to wrestle a death match for his 60th birthday. His motivation for this is to drop weight, and he would like it to be against either Jon Moxley or Matt Cardona.

“I’m thinking of doing one final match for my 60th birthday. Death Match. I think it’d be a great incentive to drop those 100 big ones, and I think it might be fun.”

“Moxley or Matt Cardona. I think Moxley would be the easiest, but Matt has that heat in the death match world that could really make it something cool.”

58-year-old Foley came close to wrestling Moxley when he was known as Dean Ambrose in WWE at SummerSlam. However, due to the frequent head injuries and skeletal damage he had suffered over his career, WWE wouldn’t medically clear him to compete. Still, considering Ric Flair managed to get a doctor to approve him wrestling in his 70s, it seems doubtful Foley will have much difficulty getting signed off at over a decade younger for a one-off indie show.
