Popular Commentator Could Be Returning To Pro Wrestling

After receiving his big break in pro wrestling by commentating on New Japan shows broadcast in the US, Mauro Ranallo joined WWE and was soon considered one of the best announcers in the world. Yet, his WWE run was sadly affected by his mental health struggles, which caused him to miss work, and eventually, he departed the promotion. However, despite him currently working for both Bellator and Showtime, it has now been reported by Fightful Select that he could be about to return to the business via MLW.

“Fightful Select has learned that MLW has been in talks with Ranallo about possibly appearing for the MLW brand. There isn’t a done deal, but there is interest on MLW’s side. MLW owner Court Bauer and Mauro had worked together on a Strikeforce project in the past.”

MLW recently came into serious money after filing an antitrust lawsuit against WWE, claiming they worked behind the scenes to stop the airing of their flagship show on Tubi. At the time, it was believed WWE planned to fight the lawsuit every step of the way to avoid a payout. Yet, they ended up settling for $20 million, which it seems MLW owner Court Bauer potentially intends to use on talent, having recently booked Matt Riddle.
