Matt Hardy Says His Podcast Comments About The Elite & All Out Altercation Have Been “Misconstrued”

During the latest episode of his podcast, Matt Hardy would go to bat for The Elite, saying, “Those guys didn’t do anything wrong in this situation. If anything, they were the victims, and I’m telling you that from a first-person perspective. I was there. I witnessed it all.” And subsequently, people would take it to mean he was a witness to the backstage fight between The Elite, CM Punk, and Ace Steel which occurred following All Out. Now though, the former WWE star has taken to Twitter to say his comments were misinterpreted. Noting he wasn’t physically there, but he stands by his statement that The Elite weren’t in the wrong, given the circumstances.

With it understood that AEW’s investigation into the altercation has concluded, it appears The Elite were cleared of any wrongdoing, as AEW has already begun teasing them on television. With it believed they will return in time for Full Gear later this month despite not featuring on the show advertisements. In contrast, Ace Steele has been fired, and CM Punk remains home convalescing following surgery, with it rumored AEW is trying to buy him out of his contract.
