AEW’s Mark Briscoe Puts @WWEonFOX On Blast

Many fans consider Mark Briscoe and his sadly departed brother Jay one of the greatest tag teams of all time, although they never received mainstream fame due to spending most of their careers as part of Ring of Honor. And now, seemingly due to a lack of knowledge, the official X account for WWE on FOX has outraged fans by referring to Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits as “Dem Boys,” which was the brothers’ collective nickname. Subsequently, this would come to Mark’s attention, who would call out the account while tagging in Triple H.

The Briscoe Brothers were 13-time ROH World Tag Team Champions, working for the promotion for twenty years. Yet, despite their success, they were never signed by WWE due to homophobic tweets made by Jay between 2011 and 2013. Jay would later go on to apologize for his unacceptable remarks, claiming they had been in character. Still, his reputation remained tarnished, and even a decade later, an unnamed WarnerMedia executive prevented AEW from using him on their programming. However, his ban was lifted when he was tragically killed in a car accident, and AEW was permitted to pay tribute to him and begin using Mark.
