While the dream of many pro wrestlers is to work for WWE, for some who achieve this, it doesn’t work out as they planned. And now, in an example of this, Edris Enofe, who most recently had been wrestling in NXT and EVOLVE, has announced on social media platform X that he is no longer with the company. Based on the wording, he seems to have either requested his release or rejected a new contract, as he states that this was “a decision I have thought about for a very long time.“
Before pursuing a career in professional wrestling, Enofe, whose real name is Inyene Umoh, served in the US Marine Corps. After this, he would briefly compete on the indies before earning a WWE contract in 2021 via a tryout in Las Vegas. From there, he was fast-tracked onto television, appearing on both 205 Live and NXT 2.0, where he worked with fellow top prospects like Von Wagner, Solo Sikoa, and Cameron Grimes. Additionally, he formed a tag team with Malik Blade, with a match against Fraxiom in 2024 likely being the highlight of both men’s careers.
