Latest Update On Kenny Omega’s Health Status Following Diverticulitis Diagnosis

Back in December, Kenny Omega revealed on social media he had been hospitalized, and subsequently, wrestling insiders reported that the AEW wrestler was suffering from diverticulitis. Since then, Omega has been putting off having surgery, hoping other treatments would cure him. However, according to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, surgery is becoming more likely, with two doctors recommending it.

“While no decision has been made, it looks more likely than not that Kenny Omega will be getting surgery on his intestines. He’s had his ups and downs but has largely been dealing with a good amount of pain for months now. He said surgery is becoming more and more likely as two different doctors have told him they think it’s the best option.”

Omega was one of AEW’s first signings, and while his time with the company has been unforgettable, he has unfortunately missed a considerable amount of ring time due to previously requiring hernia and knee surgeries. In addition, he was suspended for his part in the All Out post-show brawl with CM Punk and Ace Steel. Therefore, all that can be hoped for is that the 40-year-old won’t be out for too much longer, as fans sorely miss him.
