L.A. Park Thanks WWE Hall Of Famer For His Stand Against WCW Discrimination

In a heartfelt public message shared on X, lucha libre legend L.A. Park, who wrestled as La Parka in WCW, has expressed his gratitude to WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson. Reflecting on his time in WCW during the late 1990s, Park praised Anderson for looking after the Mexican luchadors and defending them against the prevalent backstage discrimination, saying, “I will always be grateful to the great Mr. Arn Anderson.” Why Park decided to tweet about this now is unclear, but it’s certainly nice to read.

60-year-old Park, real name Adolfo Tapia Ibarra, debuted in 1982 and rose to fame in AAA during the 1990s as the dancing skeleton La Parka, winning multiple titles and headlining shows. This opened the door for him to wrestle in WCW, and his unusual gimmick made him an immediate fan favourite. However, he would have to rebrand as L.A. Park after a 2003 trademark dispute, which, while confusing to casual fans, wouldn’t affect his long-term popularity.
