Kurt Angle has spoken multiple times about how he has talked to AEW in the past, disclosing Tony Khan initially wanted to bring him in for multiple matches, then just three, and finally as an on-screen character. However, due to his wife Giovanna being against him wrestling again, he would reject all of his approaches. Now though, he has revealed on his podcast that he did give Khan a dollar amount when they were first in negotiations, stating he asked for $3 million for ten matches. Seemingly though, Khan felt $300,000 a match was excessive, as obviously no deal was agreed upon.
Well, to even consider coming back, it’s going to have to be a substantial amount of money, I do remember Tony Khan wanted me to come in and wrestle for him. This was like four years ago, and I said, “For ten matches, I want $3 million.”
