AEW star and former TBS Champion Kris Statlander is gearing up to face former NWA Champion Kamille for the first time on next week’s episode of Dynamite. Ahead of the show she chatted about her career, the vibe in the AEW locker room, bouncing back from injuries and much more with Web Is Jericho writer and Youngstown Studio’s B.J. Lisko.
Statlander has previously shared that she’s a fan of feel-good music including many tunes from the ’70s and ’80s. Her “More Than A Woman” tagline also comes from The Bee Gees song of the same name, and she used the tune as her entrance music previously on the indies.
“More Than A Woman” would be Statlander’s first choice for entrance music if AEW chose to license the song, but when pressed to pick another tune as a possibility, she went with the 1984 Matthew Wilder hit “Break My Stride.”
“I think I would use that one, because I would sing that a lot to myself when I was getting ready to go through my second knee surgery,” Statlander said. “I would have people supervise me as I would like crush my way to the gym, and I would just be singing that song. Just cause I thought it was funny, but also it’s true. Nothing’s gonna break my stride, and nobody’s gonna slow me down.”
