Adam Cole is currently sidelined after breaking his ankle in three places after he jumped off the entrance ramp while coming to MJF’s aid during the Grand Slam-themed episode of Dynamite. Later, it was revealed that the AEW star would require two surgeries and was set to miss considerable time. It now appears the first of those surgeries has taken place, as after his trade to SmackDown, Kevin Owers would shout-out “a friend named Adam who had a very serious surgery today” during a WWE digital exclusive video.
Owens and Cole both made their names in WWE via NXT; however, they were friends long before either signed with the company, having worked together on Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla shows. Therefore, it’s great to see their friendship still remains strong despite the fact they are currently working for rival promotions.
