Journey singer Arnel Pineda has been taking criticism online after clips were posted of the frontman having what sounded like an off night at the recent Rock In Rio festival. The 57-year-old took to Facebook to say he was devastated by the performance, and he asked fans if he should “GO or STAY.”

His bandmate and Journey co-founder Neal Schon has defended him on Facebook blaming Avenged Sevenfold for the band’s sound problems. He wrote: “All this absolute garbage fabricated bullsh*t about Arnel. Does this look like nobody had a good time? I’m asking you. All fabricated, owned and bought blogs, bullsh*t.”

Schon commented on another Facebook post about the concert saying: “Arnel don’t listen to these blogs. They are all bought. You’ve kicked *ss!” The guitarist also posted another clip of the band taking a bow at the end of the night while explaining that Avenged Sevenfold was to blame for the issues.

“We found out much later that we got extremely limited by Avenged Sevenfold,” he said. “That means… hardly any sound can get out of the PA to the audience. It’s a bullsh*t moved. Check out the audience. They loved it… the rest of it’s fabricated crap.”

Schon went on to reply to a fan after being asked by Avenged Sevenfold was the headliner instead of journey. “Politics,” he wrote.
