Josh Alexander Forced To Relinquish Impact Wrestling World Championship

Having held the Impact Wrestling World Championship for almost a full year, the promotion has shared the unfortunate news that Josh Alexander is being forced to relinquish the title due to suffering a torn triceps (the same injury CM Punk is out with). Due to this, the man he was meant to be wrestling at Rebellion on Sunday, April 16th, Steve Maclin, will now face KUSHIDA to determine a new champion.

Alexander began to make a name for himself on the Canadian indies in the mid-2000s, but people started to really take notice of him when he began working for Impact Wrestling in 2018. Initially, as an enhancement talent, he would though prove his worth to the promotion and go on to hold the Tag Team Championships twice with Ethan Page as The North before going singles and becoming X-Division Champion and ultimately winning the Impact World Champion on two separate occasions.
