WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority brings the company significant money, so shows in the country are typically treated as a big deal. Still, after CM Punk previously accused The Miz of sucking a “blood money-covered d*ck in Saudi Arabia,” it appeared the “former AEW star would never work a match in the country.
However, after it was announced on Raw that Punk would be John Cena’s opponent at Night of Champions in Riyadh, the current WWE Champion has seemingly trolled his longtime rival by posting a photo on Instagram of The Miz from the Greatest Royal Rumble.
When Punk first appeared in a promotional video for Night of Champions, fans online quickly began calling him a hypocrite, with his detractors delighting in him having apparently gone back on his word. Yet, it soon appeared that his haters had been premature, as the next teaser video replaced Punk with Seth Rollins, leading many to believe an error had been made in WWE’s production department.
