On his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross discussed current WWE wrestler Jeff Hardy and what held him back from becoming a long-term world champion. While Hardy did twice win the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE championship once, his combined reigns were less than 70 days, and the former WWE commentator and talent relations executive put it down to reliability.

Both drug and legal issues have plagued Hardy’s life, and his career will forever be tarnished by the time he wrestled Sting while intoxicated at TNA’s Victory Road pay-per-view in 2011, which proves Ross’ point. Hardy has since turned his life around, and following a long injury layoff that saw him miss 11 months, he returned to the ring in the best condition he’d been in for years. He successfully won the Intercontinental Championship from AJ Styles in August 2020, and perhaps another world title run is not out of the question as he is only 43, which is younger than current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.
