AEW commentator Jim Ross was diagnosed with skin cancer back in 2021, but thankfully, after 20 radiation treatments, he was given the all-clear. However, he has now shared the unfortunate news on X that on Thursday, he had to have surgery to remove further cancer from his hip, although would confirm it went well.
72-year-old Ross is a legendary figure in the world of professional wrestling, and while he would spend a significant portion of his career working for WWE, he has been All Elite since 2019. Still, it is known that his current contract with Tony Khan’s promotion ends on February 14th, and as of writing, it isn’t confirmed he will be re-signing. Yet, even if he doesn’t get a new multi-year offer, it is known he wants to at least call Sting’s retirement match in March.
