Jerry “The King” Lawler Reveals His Staggering Medical Bill After His Heart Stopped During Raw During the September 10, 2012, episode of Raw at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler passed out while on commentary. This came shortly after he had wrestled a tag match, and at the time, viewers at home feared the worst, with it soon confirmed that his heart had stopped.
Still, thanks to almost immediate medical attention and a procedure to improve blood flow, he was able to make a full recovery. And now, during an interview with Busted Open, the beloved wrestler and announcer has discussed this scary incident and revealed that his medical bill was a staggering $20,000, which thankfully WWE covered
75-year-old Lawler began wrestling in 1970 and, since then, had wrestled every year up until and including 2023. However, due to multiple health issues, he didn’t wrestle in 2024, which means his impressive 53-year streak of being an active wrestler ended without any fanfare. Obviously, this would have disappointed Lawler, as he likely wanted to at least equal Dory Funk Jr.’s 55 consecutive-year run. Yet, given his health issues, it is probably for the best he finally called it a day.
