WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler suffered his third stroke in September 2025 while he was alone in his Florida condo, leaving family, friends, and fans greatly concerned. And while it’s known that the 76-year-old is on the mend, he has disclosed in a new interview with Action News 5 that he is now color blind, explaining that he can only see the world in black and white.
While rare, a stroke can cause acquired color blindness, known in the medical community as cerebral achromatopsia, resulting from damage to brain regions responsible for color processing rather than any issue with the eyes. This condition typically impairs the perception of specific colors or shades and often occurs when strokes involve areas supplied by the posterior cerebral artery. Unfortunately, this visual impairment is permanent in most cases, although some limited recovery can occasionally happen in the initial months following the stroke.
