Jerry Lawler Comments After Suffering His Third Stroke

Last week, the promoter of the popular HorrorHound convention announced that Jerry Lawler wouldn’t be attending due to “some personal matters.” Initially, this didn’t appear to be a significant issue, as cancellations for events like this are relatively common. However, it was soon revealed that the 75-year-old had unfortunately suffered his third stroke since 2018, leaving fans worried.

Still, it has since been confirmed he is back home, where he is convalescing. And now, seemingly confirming he is over the worst, the WWE Hall of Famer has spoken to Fox 13 Memphis, where he thanked those who visited and prayed for him.

“I remember lying in the bed in the hospital, and when people that I knew, like family members, came in, and I didn’t even recognize them. People kept coming out of nowhere to thank me and prayed for me and everything, and all of that means a great, great deal to me, and I wanna thank ‘em all for all that.”Jerry Lawler

Last year, Lawler’s WWE deal was allowed to quietly expire, which shocked many fans because he’d been a part of the company on and off since 1992. At the time, many thought this was TKO being ruthless, and trying to cut costs. Yet it was later confirmed that he remains connected to the company via a Legends/Nostalgia deal, meaning he remains eligible to have merchandise produced and appear in video games.
