Sadly the pro wrestling world has lost another former wrestler with it reported that Jeff Gaylord has died aged 64, with no cause of death yet being publicized. The former USWA star competed between 1985 and 1998 and is likely best remembered for his appearance as The Black Knight at WWE’s 1993 Survivor Series pay-per-view.
While never considered a great in-ring performer, his physique did stand out, and this saw him treated as a big deal in the territories he worked in, like the UWF, WCCW, and USWA, where he regularly wrestled and later teamed with Jeff Jarrett. Outside of the business, Gaylord had a complicated life, which saw him incarcerated twice for three bank robberies, the latter one seeing him released in 2015.
