AEW’s women’s division is considered one of the best assembled, with a diverse range of female talents entertaining fans. However, one of the most outstanding, former AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida, has been absent from the promotion since November last year due to visa issues preventing her from working in the US.
This was seemingly an unanticipated problem, as Shida had to arrange for animal lover Kenny Omega to look after her cats in her absence. Still, it appears the Japanese star is set to be reunited with her pets in addition to returning to AEW television, as she has taken to X to show off her passport along with a plane emoji.

37-year-old Shida has been signed to AEW since the early days of the promotion and subsequently held their top title three times, winning it once in 2020 and twice in 2023. And while she hasn’t been able to compete for the company this year, she has remained busy competing for multiple small Japanese promotions, suggesting there’ll be no ring rust to worry about.
