Injury Update On Darby Allin Following Revolution Ladder Bump

Sting’s retirement has obviously been the big talking point coming out of AEW’s latest pay-per-view, Revolution; however, Darby Allin’s crazy bump from a ladder through a pane of glass set up outside the ring has been a close second. And while the stunt wowed many, concern for Allin has also been at the forefront of fans’ minds. Yet it appears the spot looked far more punishing on Allin’s body than it actually was because, by some miracle, he only required 12 stitches, according to Bryan Alvarez.

“I looked at this guy’s back last night, and it was like he was wearing a red cape. I thought, ‘Oh my god, they’re not going to let him back in the match.’ They did. He’s still streaming blood everywhere out of his back. He needed 12 stitches. I heard that and I was like, ‘Okay, hold a second, you mean 1200 right? 12,000?’ 12 stitches. I don’t know how, but thank God, and that’s the story.”

31-year-old Allin is one of AEW’s brightest stars, although the longevity of his career is always in question, considering his reckless style, carefree attitude, and willingness to take bumps like the aforementioned. Somehow, though, he always manages to rebound, and now the AEW original has just over a week to prepare for his next match, which is against Jay White at AEW Big Business.
