Injured AEW Star Expected To Be Out For Significant Amount Of Time

During this past weekend’s episode of Collision, MVP revealed that his Hurt Syndicate stablemate, Bobby Lashley, is currently sidelined with an injury, leaving fans concerned and hoping it was a storyline. And now Fightful Select has confirmed that Lashley, who hasn’t wrestled since last month’s Full Gear, is legitimately injured and expected to be out of action for an extended period, which is obviously a massive blow to AEW. As for the writing, the specific injury has not been publicly shared, but it seems to be serious.

49-year-old Lashley won multiple NAIA national titles and military freestyle medals before debuting for WWE in 2005. While inexperienced, his look caught Vince McMahon’s eye, and he was soon heavily pushed, memorably wrestling Umaga at WrestleMania 23, which featured Donald Trump. Still, he would eventually leave WWE and subsequently began working for TNA while also pursuing an MMA career. Then, in 2018, he rejoined WWE and became a two-time WWE Champion through his involvement in The Hurt Business faction, which was renamed in AEW for trademark reasons.
