Hulk Hogan’s health status has been in the news recently after Bubba the Love Sponge claimed the WWE legend was on his deathbed due to heart and lung issues. And now, despite his wife and Jimmy Hart playing this down on social media, TMZ has unfortunately reported the WWE legend has passed away this morning in Clearwater, Florida, from a cardiac arrest at the age of 71.
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea retired from the ring back in 2012 following two low-key house show matches for TNA in the United Kingdom. Yet while he regularly teased making a comeback to have a proper retirement match, the fact that he had been seen walking with a cane due to having had the nerves in his lower back cut made that unlikely. Nonetheless, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer remained a significant part of pro wrestling history, and to those who lived through Hulkamania in the ’80s, Hogan will always be considered an all-time great.
