For several months, it’s been rumored that WWE was interested in signing former World Wonder Ring Stardom wrestler Giulia. And now, after it was reported she was spotted backstage at SmackDown, Fightful Select has now confirmed she is WWE-bound once she completes her outstanding commitments, with it believed she will become an NXT competitor.
“Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has been told by multiple NXT sources that Giulia will be reporting to the WWE Performance Center and NXT upon completion of her remaining dates, with an immediate main roster debut ruled out.”
Fightful Select30-year-old Giulia was born in England to an Italian father and a Japanese mother and moved to Japan at age one. She would subsequently begin her wrestling journey in 2017 via the Joshi promotion Ice Ribbon before signing with Stardom in 2019. In addition, she began wrestling for New Japan in 2020, both in Japan and in the US, due to the promotion wanting to promote female talent. However, having dropped the New Japan Strong Women’s Championship to Stephanie Vaquer last month it was known her time in Japan was coming to an end.
