Goldberg Says He’s “P*ssed Off” That Bret Hart Still Accuses Him Of Intentionally Injuring Him

Bret Hart’s contempt for Bill Golberg is well known after the WCW star kicked him in the head during their match at Starrcade in 1999, giving him a concussion that eventually ended his career. Since then, Hart has taken every opportunity to remind fans of this, and even though Goldberg has expressed his remorse over the injury, this has had little effect on how Bret Hart feels about him. Now, while speaking during an interview on The Michael Kay Show, Goldberg has reconfirmed it was unintentional and revealed he is p*ssed off that Hart still blames him, but says he shows the type of person he is that he can forgive Hart for this.

You can lead a horse to water, and you can shove their face in the damn water, but you can’t make them suck it up their esophagus. So if you can tell that I’m pretty p*ssed off about the fact that he still harbors it, yeah, it sucks. I get it. I truly believe that it shows what a human being I am and that I can forgive people for even accusing me of something that’s not true.

Hart would wrestle multiple times after the match with Goldberg, and given what we now know about concussions, he absolutely shouldn’t have as he never allowed his brain to heal. And while he returned to the ring a decade later for 11 matches, all of these had to be full of smoke and mirrors as Hart couldn’t bumps due to his health. Yet, considering what Hart had gone through the prior decade, it was great to see him go out on a high by appearing in a featured match at Wrestlemania against Vince McMahon and even winning the United States Championship from The Miz.
