Comedian and television host Bill Maher has been a pop culture staple for years on the back of his “Real Time with Bill Maher” HBO show. In 2022 he also launched his “Club Random” podcast, and he’s made two podcast additions to his new Club Random Studios.
Smashing Pumpkins frontman and National Wrestling Alliance owner Billy Corgan is getting his own show. So is Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, who will host a show about UFOs and conspiracy theories.
“I never knew Fred or Billy,” Maher said of Corgan and Durst to Variety. “But something good happens there, and I can feel like I’m best friends for life with somebody who I just talked to for an hour and a half. That’s the quality we want — a nighttime feel.”
Maher continued: “People want to hear not just a few voices, like in the old days when there were three talk shows. These are people who I would be interested in listening to.”
Corgan and Durst appeared on Club Random last year. Durst also narrated the UFO film, “The Lost Century: And How To Reclaim It.” He talked about extraterrestrials to a Limp Bizkit audience in 2022 saying: “I hate to be a preacher, but it’s super important you do not believe all this bullsh*t information they’re feeding us,” said Durst. “Everyone’s feeding us all this fear mongering bullshi*t, and it’s up to us to seek the truth. It’s gonna happen soon. There’s gonna be a revolution. You better believe it.”
