Matt Riddle’s reputation took another hit last week when it was reported that he no-showed at a charity event in the UK. And while Riddle would go on to acknowledge this incident on X, claiming he wasn’t happy with his flight, he dismissively said, “I could explain everything in great detail. I’m not lying, but I really don’t give a f*ck anymore.”

Therefore, many fans online have since condemned Riddle for his lack of professionalism. However, it appears not everyone feels Riddle was in the wrong, as former WWE wrestler Paul London has come to the defense of Riddle during a recent podcast appearance blaming the promotion for not making him aware the show was for charity.

“He’s a truthful guy, a decent guy … What people forget is Matt’s an in-demand wrestler. His schedule is busy, and if a company wants to book him, they need to stay on top of communication. If they don’t, he’ll just move on to another booking. That’s what happened here, he ended up working in Miami instead, because they made it work while this other company didn’t. Their lack of communication, their failure to clarify it was a charity show, and their poor timing are on them.”Paul London

At one time, 39-year-old Riddle looked like he was destined to become a massive WWE star, despite problematic allegations having been made. Nevertheless, his WWE run was cut short due to his repeated Wellness Policy violations and causing the company bad publicity following an incident at an JFK airport. Still, due to having established his name, he remains in demand on indie shows, although it is understood he was recently unbooked from a convention following this latest drama.
