This year has already seen the retirement of Goldberg and the Dudley Boyz, with John Cena and AJ Styles also wrestling on borrowed time. And now, adding to those stepping away from the ring, Chaz Warrington, better known as Mosh, has announced that The Headbangers will be ending their career in July 2023. Whether this means both men are finishing up or will just no longer team wasn’t made clear, but it will be a disappointing day for fans of ’90s tag team wrestling.
The Headbangers, also known as the Flying Nuns and Sisters of Love, were formed in 1994 by Mosh and Thrasher, whose real name is Glenn Ruth. From there, they burst onto the WWE tag team scene in 1996 as a high-energy, punk-rocker combination, and their career highlight would then come when they captured the WWF Tag Team Championship at Ground Zero: In Your House. And while they would ultimately split up due to Thrasher suffering an injury, they would make a shock WWE return in 2016, seemingly thanks to the company embracing nostalgia.
