Earlier this month, it was reported that Bobby Horne, who famously wrestled as Mo in Men On A Mission, had again been hospitalized, this time due to a blood infection and pneumonia. This was particularly worrying as it was known he’d been struggling with his health for several years, requiring both a kidney and liver transplant. And now, in unfortunate news, Book Pro Wrestlers has announced that Horne passed away on Sunday, at the age of 58.
Horne broke into the business in 1991, and alongside Nelson Frazier (later Mabel/Viscera), debuted in WWE in 1993 as Men On A Mission with manager Oscar. Their size and rapping gimmick led to a WWE Tag Team Championship win at a UK house show, rumored to be a botch due to Pierre Ouellet’s inability to kick out under Mabel’s weight, as they lost the titles two days later. Still, the win was acknowledged on TV, and Mabel’s 1995 King of the Ring victory elevated Horne to “Sir Mo” as his manager.
