After news broke that the United States had bombed several nuclear sites in Iran, fans immediately began speculating whether SmackDown and Night of Champions, which are scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia later this week, would need to be rescheduled. However, while it’s known that several news outlets have reached out to WWE for clarification, the company hasn’t replied to anyone as of the time of writing.
This has, therefore, prompted former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman to take to X and call it “absolutely crazy” that the company hasn’t already decided to pull the event.
According to Bryan Alvarez of F4W, if WWE were forced to make changes, they wouldn’t simply hold the show at the Performance Center, as they did for WrestleMania 36, because the company has four or five other options available. Still, making such a change would be a major inconvenience, although financially, it likely wouldn’t be a significant issue, as WWE would just agree on an alternative date with Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority when the situation in the Middle East stabilizes.
