After ten years with WWE, their artist-in-residence, Rob Schamberger, disclosed on Instagram and via his newsletter that he is no longer with the company. And while it isn’t currently known whether that was his choice or theirs, @ShopAEW has now announced he has joined AEW, seemingly in an identical role.
For those unaware, Schamberger is a professional artist who has been specializing in portraits of wrestlers for many years, first becoming known to fans after he launched a Kickstarter to fund his painting of every world champion. From there, he would build a relationship with former WWE employee Jim Ross, leading him to partner with the company to sell his artwork via WWEshop.com and their auction site. However, as of this writing, all his artwork has been made unavailable for purchase via official WWE channels.
