Former Raw & SmackDown Women’s Champion “Done” With WWE

Over the past six months, Sasha Banks has been constantly in the wrestling news, with few people truly knowing what her future holds. Now though, it has been confirmed she will be in attendance at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdon 17, with it appearing her WWE career could be over. And now seemingly confirming this, Dave Meltzer has revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that she is, in fact, “done” with WWE after they failed to agree on an improved contract. Although it is noted the situation could change, seemingly if they stump up the extra money she wants.

Maybe they’ll just say “She’s more trouble than she’s worth. She’s asking for so much money.” Which is, of course, the attitude a month ago of “Oh my god how can she ask for so much money?” January 4th Tokyo Dome and other dates, and Mercedes Vernado or whatever name she will go with, but as of right now she’s done with WWE. It can change at any moment, but that’s the situation right now.

WWE suspended Sasha Banks as well as Naomi after they walked out due to being unhappy with their creative for the May 15th episode of Raw. And while there is likely more to the situation than just feeling their tag team was underutilized, as neither has publicly commented on this yet, many questions remain unanswered. It was reported at one point that Banks had requested and been granted her release, which was never truly verified, so it could now be a case her contract expired.
