Former NXT Wrestler Troy Donovan Says “Mistakes Happen” Following Surprise WWE Release

On Sunday evening, it became known that WWE had released Troy ‘Two Dimes’ Donovan of NXT. Precisely why remains uncertain, with a “policy issue” being cited as the official reason. Now though, the 22-year-old has taken to Twitter and called this a bump in the road, acknowledging mistakes happen and a lesson has been learned. This vague tweet will likely increase speculation, as there are already wild theories being proposed online, and the fact that he was reportedly told he could come back in a year adds to the mystery.

Donovan had only signed for WWE earlier this year and recently became an NXT regular alongside Tony D’Angelo and Channing Lorenzo in a gangster-inspired gimmick. Before this, he worked independents as Cole Karter and had appeared for AEW several times, most notably facing Anthony Ogogo on Dynamite. What the future holds for him is currently uncertain, with the reason for his release being unclear. Still, considering his age and look, it seems doubtful that fans have seen the last of him.
