Former NXT Star Velveteen Dream Was Arrested Twice In August

With Triple H bringing back released talents, Velveteen Dreams’ name had been suggested as someone who may get a second chance. However, that now seems incredibly unlikely as, according to recently discovered court records, the former NXT North American was arrested twice in August. The first time was on August 20th for battery and trespassing, and again on August 26th for possession of drug paraphernalia. Dream has since pleaded not guilty to the first charge and is currently out on bond.

WWE released Dream on May 21st, 2021, due to #FireVelveteenDream trending on Twitter every time he wrestled following disturbing allegations made against him regarding minors. Nevertheless, it should be noted he was never arrested for those allegations, and WWE’s internal investigation apparently cleared him. Yet this didn’t matter to some fans as his attempted comeback was short-lived, with the first indie promotion to book him had to announce he was off the show within two hours due to the adverse reaction on social media.
