Friday night saw AEW put on what appeared to be a marathon AEW Dark taping featuring some of the company’s top stars like Claudio Castagnoli, the Lucha Brothers, Eddie Kingston, and Toni Storm in action. Yet, for many fans, what they first look for when reading what transpired at these tapings is what wrestlers debuted for the company, as it can indicate who Tony Khan is considering signing. And without spoiling what occurred in the matches, the most notable name appearing on the show who had not previously worked for AEW was Madman Fulton, previously of NXT and Impact Wrestling. With the 32-year-old wrestling in a six-man tag match against the Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno, and John Silver.

The 6’9″ wrestler spent five years with WWE under the name Sawyer Fulton as an NXT performer, signing in 2012 and initially worked as an enchantment talent before moving up the card. And it appeared his big break had come in 2016 as part of Sanity. Unfortunately, though, he would suffer a torn pectoral muscle, and his spot went to Killian Dain instead. The following year he would be released by the company, despite not having yet returned to the ring. Nevertheless, he wouldn’t give up on his pro wrestling ambitions and has since been earning a living on the indies and competing for both MLW and Impact Wrestling, with his last appearance for the latter being this past March.
