Former ECW Champion Marries Childhood Sweetheart

Steve Corino, a former ECW World Champion and current WWE Performance Center coach, has surprised fans by marrying his childhood sweetheart in an impromptu wedding in New York City’s Times Square. The ceremony, which followed a surprise proposal, was officiated by NXT producer Ryan Katz under the iconic bright lights. Katz, who wrestled under the name GQ Money, went on to describe the event on Facebook as a special celebration of love, calling Corino’s bride his lifelong queen and wishing the couple eternal happiness.

Under the bright lights of Times Square, Steve Corino married his childhood sweetheart and found his lifelong queen. It was an honor to be a part of the experience, and I wish the happy couple the best in eternal love.” – Ryan Katz

52-year-old Corino debuted in 1994 on the independents. It gained fame in ECW between 1998 and 2001 as “The King of Old School,” winning the ECW World Heavyweight Championship in 2000 and memorably feuding with Dusty Rhodes. After ECW folded, he became a globetrotting journeyman, capturing titles in NWA, MLW, and ROH, plus tourned Japan dozens of times. And while he now works for WWE as a producer and coach for NXT, he still occasionally competes on the indies, having become a regular for Premier Wrestling Federation.
