During his feud with CM Punk, Drew McIntyre posted a photograph on social media alongside his current in-ring rival’s real-life adversary, Jack Perry, which quickly went viral. And now Perry has spilled the details on his surprise airport encounter with McIntyre during a recent appearance on his girlfriend Anna Jay’s Twitch stream, describing the towering WWE veteran as “enormous,” and revealing it was Jay who took the photo, which ended up later being deleted by McIntyre.
“We were in Nashville and I’d just done Blood & Guts before, my head was hurting like a bitch, and I had dried blood, my hair, and this and that. And we went to get on the plane, and right behind me, it was Drew McIntyre, and he’s enormous. And then we talked for a while. He was a super cool dude, and he just took a picture … Anna took it. He gave me some good advice. Yeah, I think it got taken down.“ – Jack Perry
While wrestlers taking photos with talent from rival promotions is no longer considered a big deal, this picture drew extra heat because McIntyre used the friendly snap to troll his rival in an attempt to blur the line between kayfabe and reality. The photo referenced Perry’s infamous 2023 backstage clash with Punk at AEW All In, where a dispute over using real glass led to a backstage physical altercation and Punk’s firing from the company and eventual return to WWE.
