When Jon Huber tragically died, it devastated the pro wrestling world, with those lucky enough to work with him being truly heartbroken. And now, on the fifth anniversary of his tragic passing, his longtime tag team partner, Erick Rowan, has shared a profoundly moving tribute on Instagram to acknowledge the sad day. In this, he would reflect on the enduring grief that “never goes away,” and refer to Huber as his “brother.”
Rowan and Huber, then known as Luke Harper, formed a dominant tag team in WWE, debuting as the enforcers of The Wyatt Family under Bray Wyatt in 2012 on NXT. Subsequently, they captured the NXT Tag Team Championship in 2013 before moving to the main roster and facing top teams, including The Usos and The Shield.
After the faction’s initial disbandment, they reunited as the mallet-wielding Bludgeon Brothers in 2017, winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 34. And while they would ultimately go their separate ways, Rowan later appeared in AEW to honor Huber’s memory.
