With Veterans Day having just taken place, Dustin Rhodes would take to X to tweet “Thank you boys for your service,” along with a collage graphic featuring the likes of Bobby Lashley, Jesse Ventura, Kevin Nash, and Lacey Evans. However, the fact that he included Randy Orton, who was famously discharged from the Marines for bad conduct, raised eyebrows and drew more than a few negative responses. Still, rather than accept that he perhaps should have excluded Orton, the second-generation wrestler has instead doubled down on his praise, telling fans to “Stfu,” while going on a blocking spree.
For those unaware, Orton initially thrived during boot camp, becoming a rifleman at Camp Pendleton, but would ultimately go AWOL twice. Expecting an honorable discharge, the future WWE star would eventually turn himself in, although he actually received a 38-day confinement in the brig and a bad conduct discharge instead. Nevertheless, it should be noted that Orton has since acknowledged he was in the wrong and even had his Marines tattoo covered.
