Drummer Carmine Appice Claps Back At Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx

The back-and-forth between legendary drummer Carmine Appice and Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx appears to be ongoing.

Appice said last week that guitarist Mick Mars, a close friend of the drummer, told him that he left the band for reasons not solely related to his health issues.

Appice said of the 71-year-old guitarist: “Well, I’ll tell you what. I’ve been talking to Mick, and he told me, ‘When I was on ‘The Stadium Tour’, I was not happy.’ Basically, everything was on tape; it was all planned out and ultimately a lot of crap.”

Appice went on to say: “The truth is that everything has been weird for a while with Mötley Crüe, and Mick didn’t like that everything was on tape. Mick told me that people that came to see it could tell that it was all pre-recorded and that everything was on tape.”

Sixx would fire back via social media. “Love how people talk FOR us without talking TO us,” he wrote. “This is why the media has lost credibility. Obviously by printing BS they make money off of advertising and we’re not into that clickbait game. When the truth comes out it will be FROM üs.”

Sixx went on to add: “A washed up drummer trying to speak for us? And bottom feeder media running with it to make money off of lies? Welcome to the sad new world of LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME.”

Appice took to Twitter on Sunday to respond. “At least this washed up drummer can play his instrument well who has pioneered heavy rock drumming and can educate others around the world on his instrument !!!”

Appice, best known for his work with Vanilla Fudge, Cactus and Rod Stewart, also previously that Mars was not getting along with the rest of the band.

“He had his own means of travel and would travel alone on a bus while the other guys flew everywhere,” Appice said.
