LA Knight is seemingly more highly regarded among WWE fans than the company itself, with many feeling he should already be a regular main eventer. And now WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page has heaped praise on the talented 43-year-old during an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. Page would highlight Knight’s tenacity and long journey to perfect his charismatic character, urging WWE to capitalize by saying, “Give him that damn ball, because that cat, he’s got it all.” Additionally, he dismissed claims that Knight mimics legends like The Rock or Steve Austin, insisting that Knight has forged a unique style from those influences.
Knight, real name Shaun Ricker, debuted in 2003 on the independent circuit and briefly wrestled for NXT in 2013 as Slate Randall, putting over names like Mason Ryan, Mojo Rawley, and Jason Jordan. Then, as Eli Drake in Impact Wrestling, his career really took off as he captured the Impact Global Championship, King of the Mountain, and World Tag Team Championships with Scott Steiner. After a stint with Billy Corgan’s NWA, he re-joined WWE in 2021, soon winning the Million Dollar Championship in NXT. And while his main roster call-up as a manager, renamed Max Dupri, fell flat, once he resumed competing as LA Knight, he gained massive popularity with his charismatic promos and solid ring work, earning him two runs with the United States Championship.
