Danhausen made his WWE debut over the weekend when he emerged from a coffin inside a mystery crate at Elimination Chamber in Chicago. Back in 2022, Web Is Jericho published an interview with the “very nice, very evil” wrestling star where he revealed the best advice he ever got from a fellow wrestler.
“Ooh, this was from Sami Zayn,” Danhausen said. “It was, ‘Do every single show, no matter what.’ If it’s one you’re not super comfortable with, like Danhausen wrestled a bar wrestling show with no ring, for example. Danhausen did that show, and it was quite wonderful. He learned how to do the tequila dance there. So he listened to Sami Zayn, and took his advice to do every single show — a huge show, a small show, a show in the middle of nowhere — do them all.”
35-year-old Danhausen first found fame on the indies, with his gimmick helping him go viral. When he signed with AEW in January 2022, it appeared his career was set for a big boost. He subsequently debuted on Dynamite’s Beach Break special by emerging from under the ring to aid Orange Cassidy against Adam Cole and immediately became a top merchandise seller. However, he wouldn’t make his in-ring debut until May, and while there were highlights like his “Hookhausen” alliance with Hook, a torn pectoral halted his momentum, and he was hardly used again despite his contract being extended.
