Marilyn Manson has always been a controversial figure in the world of rock and metal and even more so in recent years when a laundry list of accusations were lobbed against him by multiple women claiming abuse. Most, if not all of the cases have been resolved or gone away, and a sober Manson is set for a tour later this year that will cover most of the United States and several parts of Europe.

A councilwoman in the UK, however, hopes that the October 31 date at the Windsor Hall/Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, UK doesn’t happen. According the BBC, Millie Earl has written to BH Live, the promoter putting on the show, to reconsider booking the controversial shock rocker.

“Because of our lease arrangement with them, we don’t have any input into the decisions that are made, the acts that are appearing, although I have actually written to BH Live to express my concern,” Earl said. “I don’t feel Marilyn Manson reflects the values we have in BCP and we’ve been doing a lot of work around things like the White Ribbon accreditation scheme which helps men and boys change negative, damaging behaviours. So I have asked that BH Live reconsider hosting Marilyn Manson later this year.”

There’s no word yet if the promoter is actually considering canceling the show.
