Confirmation On Whether Dominik Mysterio Requires Surgery WWE superstar Dominik Mysterio sustained a shoulder injury during the main event of AAA’s Guerra de Titanes on December 20, 2025, and many were concerned he would need surgery. However, in positive news, Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that no surgery is required, with doctors estimating a recovery period of three to four weeks. This means Mysterio should return in time for the upcoming Royal Rumble, and won’t need to vacate the WWE Intercontinental Championship or AAA Mega Championship.
28-year-old Mysterio, real name Dominik Gutiérrez, is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, and made his WWE television debut as a child in 2005 as part of his father’s feud with Eddie Guerrero. Fifteen years later, he would make his in-ring debut at SummerSlam 2020, and the following year, he and Rey became the first father-son WWE Tag Team Champions. Turning heel in 2022, he joined The Judgment Day, adopting the “Dirty Dom” persona, and, thanks to his association with Rhea Ripley and then Liv Morgan, became a breakout star.
