Confirmation Of Why Alexa Bliss’ WWE Return Was Canceled

Alexa Bliss’ has been off WWE for two years due to motherhood, although it’s known she’s been ready to return for several months. Yet while it’s understood she was set to return on the January 13 episode of Raw, PWInsider.com would report on Wednesday her comeback had been put “on hold indefinitely.”

And now the wrestling news source has revealed further details, having discovered the issue is that Bliss wants a new contract paying her more money and providing additional perks. At the same time, WWE insists she remains on her pre-pregnancy deal. Whether this can be resolved to both side’s satisfaction remains unclear, but with the Royal Rumble fast approaching, it will likely be considered a priority.

33-year-old Bliss was signed by WWE in 2013 despite having no previous pro wrestling experience. Still, due to being considered a top prospect, she was fast-tracked onto NXT television and joined the main roster in 2016. Subsequently, she became prominently featured and incredibly popular with fans when working as either a face or heel, with her career reaching new heights when she was repackaged as a sinister demonic character alongside Bray Wyatt.
