Cody Rhodes Cut An Emotional Promo After Wrestling Hell In A Cell Match With Torn Pec (w/Video)

On Sunday morning, the big talking point was that Cody Rhodes had skipped his house show match on Saturday evening, with it being announced to the live crowd he was injured. Many fans feared this would mean he would also miss Hell In A Cell, which considering how his popularity has skyrocketed since returning to WWE, would have been terrible for all involved. However, despite having a torn pec, he would bravely complete and, while clearly in pain, had a phenomenal match with Seth Rollins.

Subsequently, videos have been shared online from those in attendance at the Allstate Arena after the show went off the air, which shows Rhodes cutting an emotional promo. In this, he acknowledges that nobody convinced him to wrestle with the injury, and it was solely his decision. Then following loud “Cody” chants, he would tell the audience they would finish the journey together and that he loves them.

Rhodes is expected to undergo surgery this week, and currently, estimates online have varied from between 3 and 6 months of recovery time. And while he obviously will no longer win the Money In The Bank match, which was expected, this timeline will allow him to return before the Royal Rumble. With oddsmakers already making him the favorite ahead of Bron Breakker and Austin Theory to prevail over 29 other competitors.
