CM Punk Reveals His Last Conversation With Colt Cabana

CM Punk and Colt Cabana first met when they were training to be wrestlers, and at one time, they were as close as friends could be. However, they would fall out during the lawsuit WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann filed against them following the now-infamous Art of Wrestling podcast episode. Apparently, Punk chose to cut ties with Cabana after he met up with friends who were employed by WWE, and the duo ended up involved in legal action against each other, who was picking up the legal costs.

And now, during an interview with Ariel Helwani, Punk would be asked whether he and Cabana could repair their friendship, with Punk sharing their last conversation and seemingly confirming it wouldn’t ever happen.

“He came up to me one time at a show and was like, I was. I was at the curtain watching the show, and he came up to me, and he was like… He was like, uh, hey, can we talk? So it’s not weird between us. And I just said I won’t ever talk to you without a lawyer present. That was it. … I mean, it caused all this dumb sh*t, right?”

Some fans believe Cabana was indirectly responsible for all the backstage drama Punk was involved in during his time with AEW. However, he never made Punk get into a physical altercation with anyone, and ultimately, Punk’s brawls at All Out and All Are are what cost him his job. Yet, Cabana himself remains gainfully employed by AEW, where he works as a backstage producer and occasionally wrestlers dark matches.
