With it believed CM Punk is close to being medically cleared, the big question is will he return to AEW? And based on a report by Fightful Select, it certainly sounds like Punk will do whatever is required to make it happen. That is because he has apparently laid out several different scenarios for his return, with them including and excluding working with The Elite.
Select learned that Punk has laid out numerous scenarios in which he’d return. Among those includes a willingness to work with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. However, we’ve heard that at least as of a few months ago, Omega and Bucks didn’t seem keen on doing that, for obvious reasons. We’re not sure if that’s changed as AEW has progressed on landing new deals with them. Punk has also expressed his willingness to return to work for All Elite Wrestling and keep completely separate from the Elite along the way.
Fightful SelectWith AEW having announced All In taking place at the historic Wembley Stadium, having Punk on the card could be the difference between a sellout and a near miss. Nevertheless, with Punk having alienated so many of his colleagues, it is a big decision for Tony Khan to bring him back, with it risking his locker room’s happiness. Traditionally, though, money has always talked in pro wrestling, and even Punk’s most significant critics would acknowledge he is a draw.
